O'Keefe Flowers

I decided it would be good to have a fun, but simple project to be their introduction to liquid tempera. We learned about Georgia O'Keefe's life, then her art- they were amazed she was a real person! Inspired by O'Keefe's artwork, they learned how to reference a flower out of the examples on the screen (or decided their own from memory) and zoomed in to create a close-up of the flower.

Finished Turtles

Students really enjoyed choosing their flowers. using the paint was a little difficult for them, as Covid meant that they didn't have a lot of experience. Sadly, I did not get too many pictures, but the examples I did get turned out really great!
